During his appearance on The Today Show on Sept. 10, Justin Bieber, 21, said that he would “be interested” in performing alongside Taylor Swift, 25, at the Super Bowl halftime show. If you recall, JB used to date Taylor’s BFF, Selena Gomez, so the two performing together would definitely make for some interesting chemistry. Well, it took about no time at all for Swifty to put the kibosh on the notion. In fact, a source revealed to us that Taylor doesn’t want anything to do with Justin!
“Justin and Taylor will never do the Super Bowl together,” a source told us. “He shouldn’t hold his breath. She wants nothing to do with him. She would love performing with Britney, Bruno [Mars] and so many others, but Justin is not in any plans for it to ever happen.”
Yikes. So, there’s no chance Taylor would squeeze JB in for just a verse or two of “What Do You Mean?” Uh, nope. Justin will be nowhere near Taylor’s performance and “she is adamant on that,” added the source. Well, okay then!
So, it seems that Justin is never, ever going to be Taylor’s half time costar? Or perhaps the two have some bad blood between them which would prevent them from collaborating? Or maybe Taylor just wants to shake Bieber out? Okay, that last one didn’t even make any sense, but you get it.
Meanwhile, we still have zero confirmation that Taylor herself will be the half time performer, however, rumors continue to swirl that she has been plucked (alongside Britney Spears!) so we can continue to dream, can’t we?
