While speaking during his screening as a ministerial nominee, he stated that the major mortality is due to lack of good health facilities.
He also said that the country must find a way to address this is by emulating good models instead of copying strategies.
“The proposed community health insurance is a good project that must be promoted,”he said.
Meanwhile, he also said that it was unethical and against the mediical rules to work in government hospitals and run private hospitals, let alone diverting patients from the government hospitals to their personal health institutions.
Ehanire also asked that more intensive training be given to doctors in this positions and also acknowledged and urged for the strengthening of orthodox medication.
He said: ”I believe they have to be better regulated because there is grave danger in allowing people who have not been trained to be practices. There must be standards set to permit people to practice traditional medicine in Nigeria so that people don’t just get up and claim to be.”
Ehanire said the money allocated to health should be more efficiently used in the areas where the need is highest.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has stated that he deserves his ministerial nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari. Mohammed said he contributed to the successes of the APC in the state, adding that those protesting his nomination are free to cross-check.
