Senator presents score card to constituents

Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and senator representing Edo North, Senator Francis Alimikhena, has visited Okpella, in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, to render account of his stewardship at the National Assembly in his three months of service so far to his constituents.

He told his people that he was there to brief his leaders on the journey so far. He described regular feedback as a major tool in effective representation, stressing that his regular visit was part of the fulfillment of his campaign promises to always remain a grassroots senator and, not a senator in diaspora that was not accessible by his people.

He said: “I am here in Edo North with you and my gate is wide open to receive and listen to Edo North people.”

He mentioned some of his achievements to include the construction of the failed portion of Auchi Agenebode road, sponsoring of two bills, motions, and provision of employment as well as continuous personal assistance among others.”

Speaking during the leaders’ forum, the Edo State Deputy Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Chaltins Mogaji, described Senator Alimikhena as a man with a strong character, saying that since the political history of Edo North, this was the first time a serving senator invited political leaders to brief them on his few months of service in Abuja. “This is an exceptional character that we must celebrate. We are lucky to have Senator Francis Alimikhena as our senator in a time like this when effective representation and accountability are required in this dispensation of change,” he added.
