Toke Makinwa shuts down talk on marital issues

Celebrity media personality Toke Makinwa has finally responded to rumours surrounding her marriage troubles with Maje Ayida.

Makinwa, a radio personality with Rhythm 93.7 Lagos, made the statement in an interview with Hip TV.

She said: “Just wait and see and watch and see, I mean, there’s nothing to say. That part of my life is not open for discussion.”

The couple’s marital troubles in June became a subject for media gossip after news leaked of Ayida’s infidelities.

Ayida had reportedly impregnated his ex-lover not long after his wedding to Makinwa. The radio host soon took to her social media accounts to delete all his pictures.

On July 22, Ayida issued a public apology to Makinwa to which she did not reply or react publicly, increasing speculation on the status of their marriage.

She continued in this fashion when she refused to say much in a Punch exclusive in July.

“You have to understand that a lot is happening right now and I would rather not grant any interview or make any comment for now,” she said then.

Apart from being a radio and TV host, Toke runs a vlog and is a brand ambassador for Payporte Global Systems Limited, an online retail company.
