Police have arraigned 57 men, who ages range from 30 to 60, before Kano Magistrates’ Courts for rape and sodomy. One of them was accused of defiling 10 minor boys.
The prosecution counsel, S. O. Ekwe, said there were enough evidences against those brought before the court, although the police, he disclosed, were still investigating the cases.
The 57 men were arraigned before Magistrates’ Court 18 presided over by Justice Idiris Muhammad and Magistrates’ Court 6 presided over by Chief Magistrate Fatima Adamu.
In Court 6, four women were also arraigned for helping one Aminu Muhammad to abort a pregnancy of Varies Muhammed conceived out of wed luck. The women all pleaded guilty to the charges and they were sentenced to three years in prison with fine of N3,000 each. But the accused, Aminu Muhammad, pleaded not guilty and was reminded in prison.
