Jennifer Lawrence reveals what the last moments playing Katniss were like

Super Klutz (tm) Jennifer Lawrence spent her Halloween cementing her spot in Hollywood. Literally. Variety reports that along with The Hunger Games co-stars Josh Hutchinson and Liam Hemsworth, she put her handprints in the wet cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.​ Later today, a homeless person or child tourist will likely urinate on them, making the ceremony complete.

While there, J.Law got real about what it was like in her final moments playing iconic teen badass, Katniss, was like.

"I feel that I had two endings with Katniss," she said. "One when we wrapped the film in Berlin and that was kind of saying goodbye to the movie and then I had a moment with my nephews about a year later."

"They played my children in the scene that we shot so it was an amazing closure to this character that I've loved for so many years to have my family there, my blood family, I got to say goodbye to both," she continued.

As for what the role meant to her life, and the lives of many other women, she brought even more truth to the table.

"I feel the impact of being part of such a huge movie that has meant so much for so many people," she said. "This character is overwhelmingly supportive of women, obviously, and this iconic, I don't feel a personal impact, I think if you ever become aware of that it takes away from that a little bit, it's the movie, and the characters…it's kind of like your avatar self."​

And for that reason, she'll always be Katniss to me, and to countless other Hunger Games freaks who will forever love her simply because she's good at saying lines and has a pretty face. (And also just, in general, seems like an A++ human being.)
