In her new book, Leah Remini gets real about Scientology.
Actress Leah Remini has been in the news a lot lately talking about her time in Scientology. It's all in anticipation of her new book, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," which the New York Daily News read and reports back on.
In the book, Leah opens up about her life inside the religion, and it doesn't sound that great. (And, for that matter, she doesn't make anyone else inside Scientology sound that great, either. )
According to the Daily News, Leah was at a pre-wedding party at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes house when the festivities were interrupted by the wails of the couple's then seven-month-old infant, Suri Cruise. Leah wrote that the baby's cries echoed throughout the celebrity-studded dinner, but nobody did anything about it. After five minutes, Leah went looking for the child and found her on the bathroom floor, with three women — including Cruise's sister and his assistant — just standing over her and staring. That's not creepy.
"Not if I have a choice," said Bella. "Our mom is a f---ing SP."
For those of you who don't know, SP stands for Suppressive Person, which is what Scientologists call people in their lives who even remotely question the church's teachings. Essentially, SP's are dead to the Scieftologist and can never communicate with them or their families again. Even if that person happens to be your mother. Seems healthy!
