Nigeria to benefit from EU Small Arms Project

Nigeria has been included in the countries within the West African region, where the ECOWAS-European Union Small Arms Project will be implemented.

ECOWAS Commission President, Kadre Desire Ouedraogo, represented by Mrs. Salamatu Suleiman, made the disclosure while addressing the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting in Abuja.

Ouedraogo highlighted the decisions reached during the last meeting of the Committee in April 20015; which includes among other things, to draft Nigeria into the programme.

The project, which is an intervention programme of the European Union towards “consolidation of good governance and regional stability”, is also known as EU- West Africa Regional Indicative Programme.
