Human Rights Writers Association (HURIWA), a civil society organisation, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of Directorate of State Security (DSS) for their incompetence in preventing the recent rampant killings in Nigeria.
Making this call yesterday in Abuja, the President of HURIWA, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, while addressing newsmen in a conference tagged: “The Nigerian Human Rights Situation: A Call For Declaration of State of Emergency on Human Rights”, stated that Nigeria has turned into a Banana republic where impunity, genocide and lawlessness is the order of the day.
Onwubuiko, while calling for the dismissal of the Security Chiefs, lamented the situation whereby “violent armed hoodlums of different dimensions are unleashing blood cuddling violence on innocent Nigerians”.
