The Nigerian Communications (NCC) said it would deploy more broadband facilities whenever the country is ready for electronic voting.
NCC Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, at the 12th public lecture of The Electoral Institute (TEI), the training arm of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Wednesday in Abuja, promised that the facilities would cover virtually all major cities and rural areas of the country.
He said the action was in-line with the the country’s National Broadband Plan.
He expressed the belief that e-voting would not only improve on the efficacy and the confidence in the Nigeria’s electoral process but translate into free, fair and credible elections.
