Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, Thursday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, counselled Nigerians generally to accord serious attention to medical attention and their health status, notwithstanding absence of symptoms of diseases.
To Aisha Buhari, the programme, which is nationally carried out in all the geo-political zones of the country, was intended to reduce death rates among women. She stressed that “this will allow for early detection of sicknesses and prompt initiation of treatment “.
At the event witnessed by wives of the governors of the zone including Mrs Funsho Amosun of Ogun, Mrs Nkechi Okorocha of Imo, Mrs Bolanle Ambode of Lagos, Iara Oshiomhole of Edo and Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola of Osun, Mrs Mero Almakura of Nasarawa, wife of former Oyo state governor Chief Kemi Adebayo Alao-Akala, with their hosts Senator Abiola and Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi.
Other dignitaries present included the Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Saliu Adetunji, and many other lesser Obas in the state, as well as wife of the Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Senator Olufemi, among many others.
