'Tinsel' Season 8 Episode 1786 Recap - Aired: Monday 30 May 2016

Bimpe is at home with Telema. She is trying to sort out what to wear for a photoshoot.
She begs Telema to help her choose what will portray her as a sexy siren.
Telema chooses one of the dresses but Bimpe asks her if another isn’t better.
Telema says if she was going for ‘sexy siren’,  the red dress would be her choice.
Bimpe says she prefers the white one.
Telema asks why she bothered her if she already knew what she wanted to wear.

Telema continues chatting on her phone and Bimpe asks who she has been chatting with.
Telema says ‘Cass’ then stops herself and says a friend is trying to help set up a meeting for her and his people.
Bimpe apologises for not being there for her lately.
She brings out her car keys and gives to Telema, saying it would ease her movement.
Telema is pleasantly surprised.
Bimpe says she already has another car and driver, given to her by her management so she won't be making use of her own car for now.
Telema gives her a hug and thanks her.

Caeser points the gun at Tsav. Tsav runs and Caeser shoots.
Tsav docks behind his car and the police van pulls up beside him.
Sankey gets out and points her gun at Caeser, ordering him to drop his weapon.
Caeser acts crazy for a few seconds, laughing and crying at the same time, then he surrenders and Sankey’s men arrest him.

Bimpe is giving an awkward pose while the photographer snaps away.
The pose is an imitation of the famous Kim Kardashian 'Paper' Magazine shoot but without the champagne bottle or glass, and fully clothed.
She complains about the pose and her legs hurting her. She tells the photographer to hurry up.
Midas comes in and she complains to him.
He asks if she knows about a company, KGB.
Bimpe knows them and he says  they are interested in using her as the their face; they will pay her 7 figures if they like her.
She asks what she needs to do and he tells her that she just needs to attend a movie premiere and she will meet with them afterwards. If they like her? then she is good to go.
There is a lady Midas had come in with, standing and watching them.
Midas introduces Bimpe to her and the lady says her company is looking forward to having her on board.

Nosa, his lawyer and Ehigie are at Ziggy’s.
Nosa asks where their mum went and Ehigie says she made an excuse to hurry somewhere.
She comes in and Nosa asks where she went.
She says she needed to go and talk to someone.
Nosa says he knows she went to see Brenda.
The lawyer says that is not good for the case because Brenda could spin it as harassment.
Mama says she needed to see her and Brenda now understands.
She gets excited and starts to plan how she will turn a room in her house into a nursery for when Kwame comes to visit.
The lawyer says the way things are going, she’s sorry to say they might lose the case.

Tsav gives his statement at the police station, to Sankey.
Sankey asks if he's sure he has said everything.
He assures her that he's not keeping anything from her and then he asks how they found him.
She says she decided to keep her eyes on him.
She asks if he knows any reason why Caeser is coming after him.
Tsav says he doesn’t know.
Sankey says Caeser is not an ordinary criminal, he must have guessed Tsav was under surveillance,  yet he risked it because whatever he wanted from Tsav was worth it.

Brenda brings food to Zane in the bed room. He says he really shouldn't be putting them at risk.
She asks when he’s leaving.

Bimpe is getting ready for the premiere.
Her phone rings and she answers.
One Mr. Jonah, a producer who had in the past, told her they couldn’t pay her more than 130 thousand naira for a movie, asks if she is still interested in starring in the movie.
Bimpe says she will never take that amount.
In their previous meeting , he had said he couldn’t increase the amount by even 50 naira but now he offers to increase it to 200 thousand naira.
Bimpe says things have changed and she has a management company now, so if he wants to do business with her, he needs to speak with her manager.
Mr. Jonah pleads with her to forget about the manager and close the deal with him.
Bimpe insists that he goes through her manager.
He continues pleading and she hangs up.

Odum gets to work and meets Tolu.
Tolu says he's late.
Odum, arrogantly says he had stuff to do and it had nothing to do with work, then he says  he says he can't believe Tolu of all people will rat him out to Angela.
Tolu says the fact that he's going to film school and they are friends, doesn’t mean that the job will suffer.
Odum agrees and says he will do better.

Philip and Yaya are having breakfast. He's on the phone with someone.
Yaya complains and he ends the call.
She asks who it was and he says it was Richard.
She teases him that he now has a new best friend and he asks if she's jealous.
She asks what they talked about at the gym the other day and he says cars, sports and some other stuff.
She asks for more details and he asks why she needs to know.

Zane wakes up while Brenda is still sleeping. He quietly leaves the bed, picks up his shoes and shirt and exits the room.
Brenda, who was pretending to sleep, open her eyes as soon as he leaves, then starts to cry.

Bimpe and Midas arrive at the movie premiere to a throng of reporters.
Peju asks Bimpe about her new deal with the management company.
Bimpe answers like a true professional.
Jonah, the producer, pulls Bimpe aside and says he wants her to sign the contact.
She introduces him to her manager, Mr. Midas.
Jonah shows him the contract and Midas asks if he's okay to be giving her a contract on the red carpet instead of the office.
He throws the contract back at him and drags Bimpe away.

Sheila and St. John enter the living room and see Tsav looking dazed, seated at the dining table.
They ask him what is wrong and he says “they're gone”; he threw the diamonds in the river.
Sheila asks what diamonds and he says Yahimba diamonds.

Why I Killed My Girlfriend – School Teacher

The 36-year-old mathematics teacher with Landmark Secondary School Omu-Aran, David Ogundele, who killed his girlfriend, Tosin Ashinwo, and stabbed her mother, Tuesday blamed the ugly incident on a spell cast upon him allegedly by his own wife.

David, who was paraded Tuesday by the Kwara State Police Command, told newsmen that earlier stories about the incident which claimed he was frustrated because the deceased spurned his marriage proposals were mere fallacies.

David said the entire incident happened “in a flash” as he only came back to himself after the deed had been done and explained that he went into the relationship with the deceased because his marriage of seven years had not produced any child.

Looking rather sober, he said: “I was bewitched. It was a spell. I acted according to the dictates of the spell. We were lovers, I met her in November last year and things had been going on very well between us.

“Talks that she refused my proposal were mere rumours, mere fallacies. The truth is that we were friends. I loved her and she loved me back. But my wife, we have been married now for close to seven years with no issue, after seeing me with her you know people can cook up anything, they went to tell her stories and that made her to become angry and infuriated.

“She told me to my face that I would see something, that she would use everything she has as a woman to deal with me and lo and behold, a week after this dastardly incident happened. That’s all. People can say anything. I am not blaming her. She said it and it happened.”

This is the four-year-old boy who fell into a gorilla enclosure, prompting zookeepers to kill the animal who grabbed him.

Isiah Dickerson was with his mother Michelle Gregg at Cincinnati Zoo, Ohio, when he somehow made his way through a barrier, into a moat - and was lifted up by Harambe.

Within minutes the 17-year-old 450lb silverback was killed by zookeepers who feared for Isiah's safety. But the decision has sparked a backlash, with calls for the boy's parents to be prosecuted.

Isiah is recovering from minor injuries and his mother has not been seen at the Cincinnati home where she lives.

His father, Deonne Dickerson, 36, has also not been seen since the killing of the gorilla. He was not with his partner and their four children at the time.

Rashford Makes England’s Euro 2016 Squad

Manchester United’s teenage striker Marcus Rashford has been named in Roy Hodgson’s 23-man England squad for the 2016 European Championship in France.

Rashford, 18, scored on his international debut in the 2-1 friendly victory over Australia on Friday.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is also included, but Newcastle United’s Andros Townsend and Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater both miss out.

England faces Portugal in their last Euro 2016 warm-up match on Thursday.

Hodgson’s side begin their campaign in France by playing Russia on 11 June, before meeting Wales on 16 June and Slovakia on 20 June.

Rashford, who signed a new four-year contract with Manchester United on Monday, only made his first-team debut on 25 February, but scored eight goals in 18 club games to earn an international call-up, reports the BBC.

Sturridge, 26, missed England’s last two friendly matches but did take part in a training session on Monday.

Drinkwater helped Leicester claim a shock Premier League title, while Townsend was a member of the Newcastle team relegated from the top flight.

Drinkwater said he was “disappointed” not to make the final 23 but described the season as a “huge positive”.

Former England winger Trevor Sinclair told BBC Radio 5 live: “For me Drinkwater has had such a good season and played such a pivotal part in Leicester’s success, he deserves to be in the squad.

“I think he’s had an absolutely outstanding season. He’s shown what he can do at international level. What he does on the pitch a lot of the time goes unnoticed. He works so unselfishly for the team, I think he may be a big miss for the England squad.

“Townsend will feel unlucky because he’s had a great finish to the season, despite Newcastle getting relegated.

“What I will say is, at least he’s getting looked at. While he was at Tottenham he wasn’t even getting the opportunity because he wasn’t playing.”

Hodgson initially named a 26-man squad after the final round of Premier League games, having intended to reveal his final selection on 12 May.

That was cut to 25 when Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph was moved to the standby list after picking up an injury.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Fraser Forster (Southampton), Tom Heaton (Burnley).

Defenders: Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), John Stones (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool).

Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Strikers: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).

UI Closure: ASUU Threatens Show Down Over Unpaid Salaries

Rather than thawing, five weeks after students of the University of Ibadan were sent home following protests against lack of water and power, the crisis in the nation’s premier university became more complicated Tuesday as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) also threatened a showdown with the institution’s authority following its inability to pay their salaries in full since January this year.

While they have vowed not to receive any ‘nonsense’ salary again from the University, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Idowu Olayinka has also painted a gloomy picture, saying that the federal allocation being received now could not take care of the staff’s demands, translating to hopelessness in many parents who had thought that their wards would soon resume for their studies.
The VC during a press conference addressed Tuesday hinted that since the students were asked to go home five weeks ago, nothing had happened in terms of repairs or provision of the needed amenities, due to paucity of funds.
However, the ASUU Chairman, University of Ibadan Chapter, Dr Deji Omole said that the union members had reached their patience limit and had therefore resolved to receive their full salaries from the Federal Government and not to receive part-payment of their salaries again.
He stated that since January this year, staff at the university had been told to wait for the signing of the budget for full payment of salaries, but that to their consternation, the President Mohammadu Buhari-led Federal Government immediately implemented the hike in fuel price while starving workers of their salaries.

Cote d’Ivoire Ex-First Lady Goes On Trial For War Crimes

Cote d’Ivoire’s former first lady, Simone Gbagbo, went on trial on Tuesday, accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes for her alleged role in a 2011 civil war.

The court case at home came after the government rejected her extradition to international court in The Hague.

Her husband, ex-president Laurent Gbagbo, is already before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges linked to the brief conflict, which was sparked by his refusal to accept defeat to Alassane Ouattara in a run-off election in late 2010.

Around 3,000 people died in the violence.

Flanked by policemen, Simone Gbagbo, a key figure in her husband’s regime, greeted several dozen cheering supporters gathered at the entrance of the court in the commercial capital Abidjan with waves and smiles.

The prosecution alleges she was part of an inner circle of her husband’s key backers that planned violence against Ouattara’s supporters as a means of maintaining Gbagbo in power.

The trial opens just a day after Chad’s president Hissene Habre was convicted by a special tribunal in Senegal for ordering the killing and torture of thousands of political opponents during his eight-year rule.

The success of that trial is likely to bolster African leaders, who have grown increasingly hostile towards the ICC and have called for the continent to take justice into its own hands.

Having emerged as the victor of both the polls and the war, Ouattara, now president, has refused to honour an ICC warrant for Simone, claiming that the Ivorian justice system is now capable of judging her.

In an earlier trial, she was convicted in March 2015 of offences against the state and given 20 years in prison, a sentence that was upheld on appeal this month, reports Reuters.

However, despite the conviction, rights campaigners and observers criticised the trial for failing to provide evidence linking her and other political leaders to violence by their supporters.

Human rights groups including the International Federation for Human Rights, which was representing victims in the domestic case against Simone Gbagbo, announced this week that it was withdrawing its participation in the war crimes trial.

They claimed the prosecution’s investigation had been rushed in order to respond to the ICC warrant and the trial would not give victims a full picture of the Gbagbo administration’s orchestration of the post-election violence.

Nigeria’s Barkindo Frontrunner To Become OPEC Sec-General

OPEC is likely to choose Nigeria’s Mohammed Barkindo, a former head of state oil firm NNPC, as the next secretary-general of the producer group, three sources with knowledge of the matter said on Tuesday.

I Was Queried By Obasanjo For Suggesting Privatisation Of NNPC – Atiku.

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Tuesday reviewed his stewardship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, stating that he was queried by Obasanjo, his boss then, for suggesting the privatisation of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NPPC).
Abubakar, who spoke at a book presentation, titled; “We are all Biafrans” written by Chido Onuma, stated that idea of setting up a North East Development Commission (NEDC) as being proposed by the present administration was not necessary.

According to him, the situations in the North East and Niger Delta are not the same even though the North East deserves national and international attention.
Abubakar, who spoke as the chairman of the book launch, revealed that he advised against the policy of gas to power plants as a means to increase power generation, because he believed they would not work given the high level of vandalism.
He said: “President Obasanjo refused to listen to me on gas to power plants. With gas to power plant, you will not get electricity and we have been trying it since 2002, we have not got there and we will never get there.”
According to him, he advised the President on investment in hydro electricity in order to increase power to the national grid.”
Speaking on the Niger Delta issue, he stated that his administration as a Vice President invested in the Niger Delta, but that the Niger Delta Ministry was his campaign idea in 2007 when he lost the presidency to late President Umar Yar’Adua.
Abubakar explained that why the Niger Delta Ministry has not yield much improvement in the area was as a result of where it is sited. According to him, it would have been sited in the Niger Delta area.
He, however, explained that this could not be so because the founder of Niger Delta Ministry, late President Yar’Adua was not prepared to become President.

It Would Be A Mistake To Focus On Man City’s Guardiola, Says Mourinho

New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says it would be a mistake for him to focus on Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola next season.
Mourinho and Guardiola clashed while in charge of Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga respectively from 2010 to 2012.
“For two years I was with Pep in a league where the champion was either him or me,” said 53-year-old Mourinho.

“If I were to focus on him and he were to focus on me, someone else would be champion.”
During their time together in Spain, Guardiola won the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. He and Mourinho each won one La Liga title, one Spanish Cup and one Spanish Super Cup.
Portuguese Mourinho was appointed United manager last week following Louis van Gaal’s sacking, while Guardiola takes over from Manuel Pellegrini at City.
Mourinho and Guardiola’s meetings in Spain became increasingly antagonistic, and Mourinho poked Guardiola’s assistant Tito Vilanova in the eye during a melee in a Spanish Super Cup tie in 2011, reports the BBC.
Guardiola’s first game as City manager will be against United in a pre-season friendly in Beijing on July 25.
Mourinho visited United’s training ground at Carrington for the first time on Monday, when he met club legend Sir Bobby Charlton.
Mourinho has not spoken with assistant manager Ryan Giggs about his future at Old Trafford, with long-time assistant Rui Faria set to be appointed.
It is understood Mourinho wants 34-year-old midfielder Michael Carrick, who is out of contract this summer, to stay for another year, although a deal has not been been signed.

"Sex Is Not The Key To A Happy Marriage - Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek has ruled out sex as the secret to a successful marriage. The actress who married French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault in 2009 opens up in the July issue of Red magazine. Hayek, 49, admits what happens in the bedroom isn't critical to making it work with her husband.

"Sex is not the key to a happy marriage, but it's a side effect. Although not every day! If it's every day then it loses its charm. It's so important to maintain your chemistry. You have to continue to laugh, continue to explore, continue to have fun with each other, continue to have romance." The Oscar-nominated actress, she says she's most proud of her personal life, she continued

"A good marriage, full of love, is my biggest accomplishment. Home is where my husband is," she continues. "He is home. Everything outside of the family nucleus is an adventure that you're living together."

As for how she keeps it steamy in the bedroom, Hayek explains that it's important to feel sexy, which sometimes can be difficult when feeling insecure.

"Even though I struggle every moment with my own judgment of my body, I'm in touch with myself. I try to be really aware of every muscle. It is sexy," "Sexuality, what other people see in you, is enjoying your body. Involve your senses in your life, and you will become sexy. Dance, and not to look good. If you dance terribly, still dance."It might in the moment not look sexy, but this interaction with life makes you sexy. And even if you're on a diet, enjoy your food—please! It's a very Latin point of view."

3 Teens Charged With Animal Cruelty After Slamming Pet Rabbit Against A Wall

Three teenage girls were arrested on animal cruelty charges Saturday after a video surfaced on social media showing a bunny being thrown repeatedly against a wall.
The video, which was posted to Snapchat, shows the rabbit held by the throat then thrown against the walls of a room several times. The teens can be heard giggling and laughing each time it hits.

A loud thump also is heard as the rabbit strikes the wall. One teenager also appears to kick the bunny as it tries to escape, according to the video posted on a Nassau County community forum Facebook page.

An x-ray showed the rabbit has a leg fracture but otherwise is safe and sound. However, it won’t be available for adoption for awhile. It will be receiving additional veterinary care, Nassau County Animal Services said in a post on its Facebook page.

The teens, age 13 and 14, were arrested after the video was posted prompting several complaints to the Sheriff’s Office, which subsequently located a house where the injured rabbit was found and rescued. The three were taken to a juvenile detention facility in Jacksonville.

Rich Mum' And 'Homeless Mum' Ask Strangers For Money To Feed Baby, Checkout The Outcome

A YouTube vlogger Josh Paler Lin carried out a social experiment which saw a rich mother and a homeless mother asked strangers for money to feed her baby.
The scenario was set up by him to see if passers-by changed their perception of a woman with her baby, depending on social status.
First, the volunteer was asked to wear lovely clothes and do her hair and make-up.

She then hit the streets, asking strangers for a couple of dollars of change to help her buy food for her baby.
Amazingly, all except one man offered the woman some money without question.
But the tables were turned when the same woman appeared unkempt.

This time around, almost every passer-by told the woman they had no change, with one man refusing to even offer a polite no, instead telling her to f*** off.

Only one group offered the woman cash to help her baby, and they were later refunded and given a small cash sum by Josh.
At the end of the video, Josh adds the word

"Do not judge by appearances. A rich heart may be under a poor coat."

Photos: Monster Alligator Stuns Golfers By Casually Strolling Across Florida Golf Course

A monster alligator stunned golfers in Palmetto, Florida, while playing a typical Sunday game at Buffalo Creek Golf Course. Charles Helms got a footage of the alligator casually strolling across the course.

The dinosaur-like gator looked even bigger when another man came into the frame to take a picture - but apparently he is quite a regular sight in the area. Golf course employee Wendy Schofield told News 3.
'People people have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture,''He doesn't bother anybody and they don't bother him, he's like a mascot for the course, which is owned by Manatee County.''He has been here for a very, very long time, he's not new at all. 'There have been guesses that he's 15 to 16 feet long.'The word has spread that this is a great place to come and play. He is the highlight, but we are worth the price too.'
