Again, trailer falls in Lagos
Another trailer carrying 40 feet container fell on the road at Alapere area of Lagos metropolis yesterday. A witness said the driver of the trailer, which was heading to Ibadan end of the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway, lost control of the vehicle. According to him, the trailer summersaulted twice before falling down. He said: “We were queuing for fuel at Total filling station on the expressway.
Poor countries ‘left behind’ at climate talks
A critical UN conference aimed at agreeing a new global approach to climate change is set to open in Paris.
The meeting, known as COP21, will see negotiators from 195 countries attempt to finalise a new treaty over the next two weeks.
Political leaders from 147 countries will address the conference throughout Monday.

Arms deal: FG directs EFCC to prosecute ex-CAS, Amosu
The Presidency has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence the prosecution of a former Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, over his indictment by the panel probing the $2.9 billion arms procurement deal. This is as New Telegraph gathered from highly placed sources, that the Presidency has granted one-month extension to the panel to enable it complete its assignment.
No going back on Kogi poll –INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday declared that there is no going back on its decision to conduct supplementary election in 91 polling units in Kogi State on Saturday, December 5. INEC had declared the governorship election inconclusive and fixed December 5th for the poll in line with the Electoral Act, which gives 14 days for supplementary election to be conducted where an election is declared inconclusive.

21-year-old stabs Lagos landlord to death (Photo)
Some hoodlums started a street fight on Olorogun Street, Odo Eran, in the Itire area of Lagos State on Tuesday, during which a 21-year-old stabbed a landlord, identified as Alawu Lateef, to death.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Lateef, who was a father of three, had intervened in the fight, and asked the hoodlums to leave the area, when one of them, identified as Lati Elepo, stabbed the landlord.
It was gathered that the father of three slumped, while residents arrested Elepo before he could escape with the other hoodlums. The matter was said to have been reported at the Itire Police Division.

Tunisia’s Etoile beat Pirates to lift Confederation Cup
Tunisia’s Etoile Du Sahel beat South Africa’s Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup final in Sousse to triumph 2-1 on aggregate.
Captain Ammar Jemal scored the winner for the Tunisians to add to his late equaliser in the first leg, which had finished 1-1.
Sunday’s game was played amid tight security, following Tuesday’s bomb attack in Tunis, with a reduced crowd and an earlier kick-off time.
