Nigerians predict who becomes the next sports minister

As the ministerial screening process continues at the Senate, lovers of sports all over Nigeria are beginning to speculate on who becomes the next sports minister.

Sports fans especially football lovers are already making permutations that former Lagos state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola or ex-Senate sports committee chairman, Heineken Lokpobiri, may emerge as the new sports minister.

The ex-Lagos state governor was screened today October 14 on the floor of the national assembly. However, Lokpobiri is expected to take his screening turn on the floor of the red chamber anytime soon.

Fashola has expressed great love for football as a big supporter of Manchester United and has on several occasion, played football in public.

Bayelsa state born Lokpobiri was the chairman of the senate committee on sports until the last general elections.

However, it is still unclear whether the sports management will be run as a ministry or commission.
