Kaley Cuoco, 29, has officially filed for divorce from Ryan Sweeting, 29, but it looks like the drama is actually just getting started. With Big Bang Theory star Kaley’s worth at a hefty $53 million, it’s not shocking that Ryan wants a piece of the pie– despite the fact that the two signed a prenuptial agreement. However, Ryan has a strategy for angling his way towards Kaley’s fortune: spousal support!
“They have a prenup but he’ll likely try to get spousal support,” a source told InTouch of the proceedings so far. Kaley, though, is committed to protecting her dollars. “She doesn’t want to give Ryan a thing, not even their house,” the source added.
Professional tennis player Ryan is worth a reported $2 million himself, however, that isn’t stopping him from digging in his heels. “It’s going to get nasty,” said the source. Eesh. None of this sounds good.
The entire situation is a major bummer, and even more upsetting, those close to the couple saw their split from a mile away. “Everyone close to them knew this was coming,” the source added. They’ve been over for months. They would get into crazy screaming fights daily… It just wasn’t working. They were both miserable.”
Kaley is definitely ready to move on from this, it seems, as she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the official reason for her need to divorce. She will also ditch the Sweeting, which she has been rocking on the tail end of her moniker since tying the knot 21 months ago, and legally return to simply Kaley Cuoco.
