CRIN leadership crisis: Oyo House seeks Agric Minister, NASS intervention

Following industrial crises that had rocked the leadership and staff of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan leading to some women of the community protesting half nude on Monday, the Oyo State House of Assembly Thursday passed a resolution to formally write the Federal Minister of Agriculture over the intractable crisis.

While the House has invited leaders of the Idi-Ayunre Community over the crisis, the law makers representing the state at both the Senate and the House of Representatives have also been penned to be invited to further discuss the CRIN crisis in their various sessions.

During the House plenary presided over by the Speaker, Barrister Michael Adeyemo, a member of the House, Honourable Abiodun Wahab (Oluyole) raised a motion on the CRIN crisis where he sought the intervention of his other law makers to ensure industrial peace at the institute.

The lawmaker’s motion entitled: “Need to rescue the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) from imminent collapse”, made two recommendations to the House.
