It’s one of the most romantic films of all time, and the stars of ‘Love Story’ — Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal went back to where it all began. On February 1, Ali and Ryan reunited at Harvard, 45 years after ‘Love Story’ was filmed at the Ivy League school.
Love means never having to say you’re sorry and it also means you can go home again. Ali MacGraw, 76, and Ryan O’Neal, 74, the actors that made Love Story a romantic staple, met for one more date at Harvard four decades after shooting their cinematic classic.
Ali and Ryan kicked off their reunion in style. The two rode up to Harvard on February 1 in a classic antique convertible, similar to one they drove in the movie.
Ali and Ryan were in Boston to kick off the tour of the play, Love Letters. However, they could not resist the chance to revisit the university, and they even held a Q&A session with roughly 70 people and journalist Alicia Anstead.
“[Love Story] was a wonderful, wonderful adventure that was followed by some pretty dramatic stuff in my private life,” Ali said to Yahoo News, before mentioning she had struggles with addiction. As for shooting the film, “Ryan and I clicked immediately,” Ali added. “We just had a chemistry.”
They sure did, though they were both married to other people at the time. That’s the power of acting. This reunion was just as epic as the one held at the 2016 SAG Awards. Another set of silver screen lovers, Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, and Kate Winslet, 40, met up in a sweet Titanic reunion. Aww – Rose and Jack, together again!
