A new National Chairman for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may emerge next week.
The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which was earlier scheduled last Thursday has been fixed for Wednesday, and it is expected that the choice of the North East who will serve out Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu’s tenure will be presented to NEC for ratification and adoption.
North East zonal meeting to adopt a candidate from the zone, failed to hold last week, which was probably why the NEC meeting was put forward.
A statement on Friday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh said the National Working Committee (NWC) has scheduled meetings of key statutory organs of the party next week.
“The National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet at 2pm on the same Wednesday, February 10th, 2016,” the statement added.
