A seven – year-old girl, Precious Igwe, narrowly escaped death by the whiskers at Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, when a stray bullet was shot by two brothers during a scuffle hit her.
The girl, a primary three pupil in one of the private schools in the locality, was returning after school hours about 4pm when she was suddenly hit by the bullet pulled, at Uruto Quarters. Although the cause of the scuffle could not be immediately ascertained, an eyewitness said, “As the fight broke out after the two brothers engaged in a hot argument, one of them brought out a gun and aimed at the other but missed his target.”
Another eyewitness said for hours, the two brothers were dragging the gun before one mistakenly pulled the trigger and the bullet hit the forehead of the little girl. The source said the victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment while the feuding brothers were promptly arrested by the police in the Ozoro division.
