The trail of the embattled President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal over his failure to fully declare his assets, has begun following the Tribunal’s rejection of his fresh request for adjournment.
Saraki’s lead Counsel, Kanu Agbabi, on Tuesday was absent in court.
However, another SAN, Paul Usoro, and Mahmud Magaji (SAN) who stood in for Agabi, tried to make a case for the adjournment of the case.
Usoro premised his argument on the case filed by Saraki before the Court of Appeal.
In the case, Saraki is challenging the ruling of the CCT on his trial.
But the Tribunal rejected Usoro’s argument and consequently proceeded with the case.
This will be the seventh times that Saraki will appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal over alleged false assets declaration when he was the governor of Kwara State.
