
Despite threats by the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, to invoke the civil service rule of “no work, no pay”, the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) on Monday issued the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to meet its demands.
The doctors said failure to meet the demands, NARD may not be able to guarantee industrial harmony in various hospitals across the country.
The position of NARD was contained in a communique signed by its President, Dr. Muhammad Adamu Askira; Secretary-General, Dr. Ibrahim Shettima Kuburi; and Publicity Secretary, Dr. Uhuaba Eugene Ahuruezenma.
The communique was issued at at the end of NARD’s Extraordinary National Executive Council meeting held in Abuja.
