Thugs Attack PDP Chieftain In Ebonyi

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Abia Onyike has been attacked by suspected political thugs at the party secretariat along Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway.

Onyeike, the Director of Media and Publicity of Governor Umahi Campaign Organisation, the Divine Mandate Organisation was reportedly attacked while submitting the list of ward executives ahead of the party’s congresses.

Onyike, who sustained serious head injuries during the attack, alleged that his attackers were hired by the member representing Afikpo South East constituency in the state house of assembly, Hon. Chidi Ejem.

In his separate petitions to the state governor, Chief Dave Umahi and the state Commissioner of Police, CP Peace Ibekwe Abdallah, Onyike said: “The gang rudely and brutally battered me, pushed me down and snatched my wallet, diary, big envelop, GSM handset and file containing sensitive documents and the sum of N75, 000″.
