Yesterday. 18th May, 2016, the National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Amb. (Dr) Dickson A. O. Akoh convened a Board of Trustee, National Executive Council and Council of Commandants’ meeting at the PCN Abuja Headquarters. In the course of his long awaited brief on the on-going proceeding of the Act to establish the Nigerian Peace Corps, Dr Akoh stating that with the unwavering support generated from both chambers of the National Assembly, the Bill will eventually and evidently see the light of day.
He further posited that the Headquarter has made available all documents as required by both chambers of the National Assembly who, while keeping close contact with the Headquarter, are working tirelessly to ensure that they finish proceedings for the Third Reading on time.
With the 10th of July already on a countdown, the National Commandant demanded that all Commands commence preparation for a befitting 18th Year Anniversary/Award Nite celebration as this year’s celebration in its uniqueness, is a commemoration of the anticipated establishment of Nigerian Peace Corps and other notable achievements.
Dr Akoh further admonished the State Commandants to continue carrying their subordinates along in whatever they do as it has been the basis for proper communication and less misinformation.
