There was panic in Lagos on Thursday as a fire broke out in one of the old National Assembly buildings at Tarawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
Eyewitnesses said the inferno raged for an hour before fire fighters got to the glass house complex.
Within minutes of their arrival, the fire had spread to the adjoining building.
The spread of the blaze was as a result of the absence of a fire truck at the expansive premises.
