
Tragedy this morning struck in the Fadeyi area of Lagos as a commercial bus collided with an articulated vehicle, killing 9 people and left 10 others injured, even as the popular Mushin Market was also gutted by fire.
Among those who lost their lives in the Fadeyi crash were four children comprising two boys and two girls and five adults – four males and one female.
New Telegraph learnt that the accident occurred around 5:45am when a Toyata Hiace commercial bus with reg.no. Katsina KT 715YG and which was coming from the Northern part of the country lost control and skidded off the road to run into an oncoming articulated truck with reg.no. Lagos GGE 715 YG from the opposite direction.
The emergency responders, especially officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA); the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) and Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) had hectic time controlling and managing the situation.
They quickly took the 10 injured to the Emergency Trauma Centre at the Toll Gate along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
