The police in Imo State have paraded one Pastor Delight Arinze Okorie of Watered Ground Ministry in Atta in Njaba Local Government Area of the state for allegedly stealing his member’s Lexus jeep and attempting to murder her in the process.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Mr Andrew Enwerem, who briefed newsmen, said that the pastor prophesied to the victim, one Miss Chioma Oleka that she was possessed of water spirit which needed to be cast out at a riverside.
The pastor eventually lured the lady member to Nwangele River in Nwangele council area of the state for deliverance.
The police spokesperson explained that while the deliverance session was going on, the pastor allegedly pushed Miss Oleka into the river with the intention of drowning her. Enwerem said that on seeing that Miss Oleka survived and did not drown, the pastor allegedly went into the lady’s SUV in which they had come and brought out a machete with which he allegedly used to deal several cuts on Oleka, inflicting grievous injuries on her.
