APC banking on FG to rig Kogi, Baylesa polls – PDP

The Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) on Tuesday declared that Kogi and Bayelsa States are traditionally PDP states and therefore no amount of propaganda or intimidation will take them away from it.

The party called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to succumb to the temptation of abusing national institutions during the November and December governorship elections in the two states.

Acting National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, at the presentation of certificate of return to Governors Idris Wada and Seriaka Dickson of Kogi and Bayelsa States respectively as PDP governorship candidates in the states, alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is hoping that the Federal Government will use the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Services (DSS), the police and other security agencies, to rig elections in their favour.
“PDP is ready for Kogi and Bayelsa elections. We have started door-to-door campaigns. Controversies are trailing the APC primaries. We don’t know what they are planning. Are they planning to rig the election in connivance with INEC and security agents?” Secondus asked.
He called on security agencies and INEC to play by the rules of the game, and assured that PDP‎ would conduct a decent campaign and would win the election “freely and squarely.”
